Description: The cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) is a majestic predator that is nearly extinct in Asia and highly endangered in Africa. These two highly concentrated young cheetahs are kept in captivity. Known for their long legs, the cheetah is the fastest land mammal. At the Hoedspruit Research & Breeding Centre in the Kapama Private Game Reserve, these fascinating animals are nurtured and prepared for eventual release into the wild.
