Description: King Cheetah/Acinonyx jubatus jubatus The king cheetah has made a fascinating discovery. As the fastest land mammal, the cheetah is nearly extinct in Asia and highly endangered in Africa. Its distinctive long legs are its trademark. The rare king cheetah is characterized by its fur variation with larger black spots that merge into stripes. At the Hoedspruit Research & Breeding Centre in the Kapama Private Game Reserve, these majestic animals are bred and cared for before being released back into the wild.
