Description: The African Elephant (Loxodonta africana) is the largest land animal in the world, known for its impressive beauty and strength. These majestic creatures are divided into two subspecies: the Savanna Elephant Loxodonta africana africana and the Forest Elephant Loxodonta africana cyclotis. The Savanna Elephant, living in the dry forests and savannas of Africa, stands tall at nearly three meters and weighs up to 7.5 tons. Despite the international ban on ivory trade in 1989, African Elephants are still threatened by habitat loss, primarily due to the expansion of agricultural areas.
