Description: Buffalos, also known as Syncerus caffer, live in small family groups or large herds. As herbivores, they feed on grass, leaves, and herbs. The only natural enemies of these majestic animals are lions, while young calves are also at risk from hyenas and crocodiles. Although typically peaceful, injured or cornered buffalos can become extremely dangerous. This captivating image captures a herd of buffalo gathering at a waterhole.
