Description: The Cape buffalo (Syncerus caffer) is an impressive animal that lives in small family groups or large herds. As herbivores, they feed on grass, leaves, and herbs. Their only natural predators are lions, while small animals are also threatened by hyenas and crocodiles. Although usually peaceful, injured or cornered Cape buffaloes can become extremely dangerous.
