Description: Buffalo/Cape Buffalo/Syncerus caffer. Majestic Cape Buffalo observing the waterhole. Cape Buffaloes live in family groups and large herds. They feed on grass, leaves, and herbs. Their only predators are lions, while hyenas and crocodiles pose threats to young calves. Although usually peaceful, they can become dangerous when cornered.
