Attentive Bontebok in the Morning Sun

Description: The Bontebok, also known as Damaliscus dorcas, is an impressive species of antelope that was once on the brink of extinction. In the 1920s, less than 30 animals remained. Thanks to extensive conservation efforts, these majestic creatures were saved, although their survival is still threatened. The Bontebok lives in small herds in open grasslands as well as in tree- or bush-covered savannas. This image captures an attentive Bontebok in the Bontebok National Park in South Africa, where the species is protected and admired.
