Fascinating Blacktip shark spotted in the waters of the Bahamas (00007342)
Description: The Blacktip shark (Carcharhinus limbatus) is a fascinating creature that inhabits the tropical and subtropical seas near the coast. With an impressive size of up to 2.6 meters and a preference for depths of up to 30 meters, it is a majestic sight. At the 'Shark Rodeo' near Walker's Cay, Abaco Islands, at the northern edge of the Bahamas, you can observe the Blacktip shark alongside the Caribbean Reef Sharks. Due to the drastic decline in populations caused by overfishing, they are now classified as threatened shark species. Their diet mainly consists of sardines, herrings, mackerels, flat fish, and other fish.
