Description: The whitetip reef sharks, also known as Triaenodon obesus, are fascinating creatures of the sea. With an average length of about 1.6 m, they are known for their slender bodies and the distinctive white tips on their dorsal and caudal fins. These sharks are commonly found in the coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific. They are usually seen on or near the bottom in clear water, at depths of 8 to 40 m.
