Description: The Blacktip Reef Shark, scientifically known as Carcharhinus melanopterus, is a fascinating shark species found at the reef drop-offs in Fiji. This creature can grow up to 160 cm in length and is characterized by a grey-brown base color with black tips on all fins. The tail fin, in particular, has a distinct black margin. Blacktip Reef Sharks are commonly seen in the tidal zones and even in shallow waters. Divers at Shark Reef often have the privilege of witnessing this majestic animal.
