Description: The blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) is a fascinating shark species commonly found in the tropical coral reefs of the South Pacific. With a maximum length of 160 cm and a gray-brown coloration featuring distinct black fin tips and a black rim on the tail fin, it is easily recognizable. These sharks prefer shallow coastal waters and are often seen near reefs. Especially at Shark Reef in Beqa Lagoon, Fiji, they are a common and impressive sight.
