Description: The Great Frigatebird, also known as Fregata minor palmerstoni, is a captivating inhabitant of Eastern Island. These birds are masters of the sky with an impressive wingspan of about two meters. With their slender body and deeply forked tail, they are extremely skilled in flight. They mainly feed on flying fish, but also hunt squid and other marine creatures near the water's surface. Newly hatched turtles and young seabird chicks are particularly vulnerable. In addition, Frigatebirds are known as air pirates that attack other seabirds to steal their prey. These elegant birds are a fascinating subject for nature and animal lovers.
