Description: The Blue Crane (Anthropoides paradiseus) is the South African national bird and is critically endangered. This majestic bird can be observed along the Overberg Blue Crane Routes, where lucky visitors may even witness the famous 'dancing Blue Cranes' behavior. The area around Caledon is home to more than half of the global population of these elegant birds.
