Description: The Blue Crane (Anthropoides paradiseus) is South Africa's national bird and critically endangered. These graceful birds walk elegantly across a lush green meadow on the Overberg Blue Crane Routes. If you're lucky, you may witness the famous 'dancing Blue Cranes' phenomenon. The area around Caledon is home to over half of the global Blue Crane population, making it a paradise for bird watchers.
