Description: The White Tern (Gygis alba rothschildi) is a delicate, snow-white bird with large black-rimmed eyes. Its appearance is ghostly and surreal, especially when flying against the deep blue tropical sky. These birds hunt for fish by gliding in low-level flight over the waves and diving into the water without landing.
