Description: The White Tern, also known as the White Fairy Tern or Gygis alba rothchildi, is a delicate, snow-white bird with large, black-rimmed eyes. Its appearance is almost magical, especially when soaring against the deep blue sky. These birds hunt fish in the open ocean and return in the evening with their catch to feed their young on the island. Thousands of White Tern pairs breed on the Midway Islands, making this species truly captivating and worth protecting.
