Description: The Red-footed Booby, also known as Sula sula, is a captivating seabird that calls the Midway Atoll home. Only about 750 pairs of these beautiful birds breed on the small Eastern Island. Red-footed Boobies are skilled hunters that fly long distances over the sea in search of fish, often plunging from great heights into the water to catch their prey. With their vivid red legs and feet, blue bill, and distinctive black wingtips, they are a breathtaking sight. Despite their name, they are anything but clumsy, demonstrating elegance and grace in their movements.
