Description: The Red-footed Booby (Sula sula) is native to the Midway Atoll and primarily breeds on Eastern Island, where approximately 750 pairs of these fascinating birds reside. Red-footed Boobies are excellent hunters, flying far out to sea in search of fish and plunging from great heights to catch their prey. Despite their misleading name, they are beautiful birds with white plumage, black wingtips, a blue bill, and bright red legs and feet.
