Description: The Sooty Tern, scientifically known as Sterna fuscata oahuensis, is a fascinating bird species that nests on Eastern and Spit Islands in Hawaii. With around 50,000 pairs, they form large colonies and lay their eggs on sand or hard runways left over from World War II.
