Stranded Ship Meisho Maru 38 at Cape Agulhas in South Africa (00007014)
Description: The stranded ship Meisho Maru 38 lies at the stormy Cape Agulhas, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. The lighthouse, built in 1848, is still in service and guides ships with its lights to find their way. However, the 'Needle Cape', the southernmost point of the African continent, has been the undoing of many ships. On November 16, 1982, it was also the fate of the Meisho Maru 38.
