Description: The Barbary lion, scientifically known as Panthera leo leo, was an impressive big cat that once roamed North Africa. These fascinating animals had a particularly magnificent mane and were considered the kings of the desert. Unfortunately, they became extinct in the wild in 1910, but some individuals are still kept in captivity. The majestic eyes of the Barbary lion reflect the strength and beauty of this regal creature.
