Description: The blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) is a fascinating species of shark easily identifiable by its prominent black fin tips. This shark prefers shallow coastal waters and is commonly found in the tropical coral reefs of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. With a maximum length of 160 cm, it is considered a smaller shark species. Its diet primarily consists of small fish, squid, and occasionally seabirds or other small sharks.
