Description: The White terns, also known as Fairy Terns, are delicate, snow-white birds with large black eyes. Their graceful flight against the deep blue sky of the tropics makes them a captivating sight. These ghostly birds appear surreally beautiful and fragile, as if they came straight out of a fairy tale. White terns hunt for fish by flying far out to sea and plunging into the water without landing to catch their prey. They feed their young with up to six small fish in their bills and breed on the Midway Islands.
