Fascinating White chinned Petrel above the waves of the ocean (00004508)

White chinned Petrel over the sea

Description: The majestic White chinned Petrel, scientifically known as Procellaria aequinoctialis, gracefully glides over the sparkling waves of the ocean. With a wingspan of 1.3 to 1.4 meters and weighing up to 1.4 kilograms, these seabirds are fascinating creatures of the skies. In the picturesque coastal region of the Western Cape, specifically on Dyer Island in South Africa, they can be observed all year round. While White chinned Petrels are smaller than Albatrosses, they are equally graceful and adaptable to the rough seas. A characteristic feature is their white chin, which gives them their name.
