Description: The Red-footed Booby (Sula sula) is a striking seabird found on Midway Atoll. With only about 750 pairs nesting on Eastern Island, these birds are skilled hunters known for diving from great heights into the ocean to catch fish. Red-footed Boobies are characterized by their white plumage, black wingtips, blue bill, and vibrant red legs and feet. Despite their name, these birds are far from clumsy.
