Red-footed Booby on the Tree

Description: The Red-footed Booby, scientifically known as Sula sula, is a captivating seabird that calls the Midway Atoll home. With only approximately 750 pairs breeding on Eastern Island, these beautiful birds are exceptional hunters. They soar far out to sea in search of fish and dive from great heights to catch their prey. Sporting black wingtips, a blue bill, and vibrant red legs and feet, they are a sight to behold. Their name 'Booby' is a misnomer for these graceful creatures.
