Description: The Red-footed Booby, scientifically known as Sula sula, is a fascinating seabird native to the Midway Atoll. Only about 750 pairs of these beautiful birds breed on Eastern Island. They are well-known plunge divers, soaring out to sea in search of fish and plunging from great heights into the water. These skilled hunters are far from their ill-fitting name 'Booby'. With their brightly red legs and feet, blue beak, and elegant black wingtips, they are true beauties of nature.
