Description: The Red-footed Booby (Sula sula) is a magnificent seabird native to the Midway Atoll. Approximately 750 pairs of these birds nest on Eastern Island, a part of the atoll. They are known for their elegant black wingtips, bright blue bill, and striking red legs and feet. Red-footed Boobies are skilled hunters, diving from great heights to catch their prey. Despite their name, they are anything but clumsy. This image captures a Red-footed Booby perched majestically on a tree, ready for the next flight to hunt for fish.
