Description: The African Elephant (Loxodonta africana) is the largest land mammal on Earth. Divided into two subspecies, the savanna elephant inhabits the dry forests and savannas of Africa. With a shoulder height of nearly three meters and a weight of up to 7.5 tons, elephants are fascinating creatures.
